I have a 6-point plan to deliver improvements to Burton and Uttoxeter. Click on the below items to find out a bit more on each of my priorities in more detail and here you can also read updates on each campaign.
During the 2019 election campaign, I said I would fight hard for investment to revitalise our two local town centres, Burton and Uttoxeter. Town centres across the UK are having to adapt as they compete with online shopping and following the coronavirus pandemic.
Kate has a strong connection with Queens Hospital. It was where her daughter was born and where her family have received care for generations. Kate will continue to champion further funding and improvement of local NHS services, both to the Hospital and to GP surgeries.
Burton & Uttoxeter are firmly located in central England. We have a number of critical roads that pass through our local area that connect our country including one of the longest A-roads in the UK, the A38, and the A50 which connects the East & West Midlands.
The Government's announcement of 20,000 more police officers is good news, and I will fight to ensure more of these officers are on the beat in our towns, but also in rural areas where crime and anti-social behaviour is often overlooked.
I voted to leave the EU back in 2016, as did 63% of voters in Burton and Uttoxeter. At the December 2019 General Election, I committed to backing the Prime Minister’s deal which allowed the UK to leave the EU as quickly as possible.
