Investment for schools and education

Schools

At the 2019 General Election, the Government pledged a £14 billion increase in schools funding, including a minimum funding guarantee per pupil. I committed to fighting for a bigger share of the increased funding for schools given that Staffordshire is an area that has historically been underfunded due to previous funding formulas. This issue is even more critical now following the coronavirus pandemic and the amount of education every child will need to catch up on.

I will also continue to back the Government’s plans to reorientate the education sector to provide more skills-based and technical education opportunities.
