Global Burton and Uttoxeter

Kate Griffiths MP

I voted to leave the EU back in 2016, as did 63% of voters in Burton and Uttoxeter. At the December 2019 General Election, I committed to backing the Prime Minister’s deal which allowed the UK to leave the EU as quickly as possible. I was pleased to shortly after my election vote for the Prime Minister's deal in Parliament and leave as scheduled on 31st January 2020.

During the election campaign, I also pledged to unlock the potential of the UK following Brexit and support local businesses harness the benefits of Britain being a single, sovereign trading nation once again. Burton and Uttoxeter has many large-company household brands to unique Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), not to mention the brewery sector, and I am working to support local entrepreneurs and businesses to take up new opportunities to trade and export globally.
